And it doesn’t have to be just inside either! Seminal fluid near the vagina can be enough.

is it like a dosage thing? like take two pills instead of one? or does that have something to do with like the biomechanics of how it’s absorbed?

It makes me wonder if BC manufacturers even factored in ppl over 175lbs to begin with, because why that specific weight? 😭

It’s fat soluble so the more body fat there is, the more it’s absorbed along the way and the efficacy drops, but you would probably benefit from talking to a provider/pharmacist about possibly having a larger dosage or looking into other options that may be more beneficial to you. The more detailed the discussion about your health, history with medication, etc., the better off you’ll be in finding options that are best for you!

„’Cause we’ve never, really, studied, the female body 🎶“ /ref I imagine it’s largely because AFAB bodies haven’t been researched nearly as much and the “average” height and weight is what’s considered in those studies when they do happen. 🫩

I’m quite obese and know my medications have had to be adjusted as a result, but I’m not on BC (trans) so I can’t give definitive advice outside of what I read. But I do highly recommend meeting with a provider to discuss your options regardless! Always going to be more tailored to you than what you’d find from any of us.

I believe it wasn’t required to consider overweight folks in studies until about a decade ago at earliest (please correct me if I’m wrong about that).

i see, that makes sense. i’m glad i’m not in a spot for this to be relevant to me particularly but it’s still good to know. thanks for educating me :)

Isn’t like 1 pill $50 alone. I couldn’t imagine having to take 2 for $100 just because people who are on the higher weight spectrum weren’t considered.
