i had a friend who was a folklore major! also mine was probably the class on choose-your-own-adventures where the professor didnt assign a syllabus and also never told us what to read and would expect we had just read random chapters out of 1 of 6 books he had assigned

from what i understand, its more about historical folklore around the world regarding monsters and the psychology behind why we create monsters/are so affected by them but its just called monsters and monstrosities lol
