There isn’t. The character they’re switching to has been a prominent part of the lore for a long time so it’s not like they’re just throwing out a new female character for no reason. Also people have been generating AI images like this of her which says a lot about the reaction

Not really.. it’s was 18% female to 23% male protagonists in 2020 and has likely trended more towards even since then.
