you can also use Chime and get their credit builder card, or if you have an account with a credit union they are more likely to give you a credit card with a small limit like $200. otherwise yeah, secured loans/cards are the easiest option. once you get a couple months worth of on time payments on your credit history, card companies will start harassing you with offers in the mail

Open a checking account with Wells Fargo. After a few months, you can get a credit card with a decent casback option, but a low credit limit. Pay that off on time and they’ll increase your limit. They have special promos for students. I think the Apple card is one of the harder ones to get.

Student loans, car payment, store cards (e.g. JCPenney card, kohl’s card, etc), apartment rent, etc. I don’t have any credit either, but from my mini research, those are some ways you can build up credit

I started with a secured loan. Basically I loaned the bank money that they loaned back to me at a profit and then I paid off my loan as they paid off their loan. But most people just get a co-signer

You can get a student card usually. Just google cards for people with no credit history. You do typically have to have income with those though. I’m unemployed and I am an authorized user on a card under my mother’s name - so it helps build my credit history too!
