I had a professor tell me that I had to come into class because I already used my two skips and if I didn’t my grade would drop. I was sick for 2 weeks and had a high fever so I went bright red and passed out in class

it’s like they completely forget we pay them to teach us. FAFSA or not you’re still getting paid because you have students. No student = no class = no pay.

putting aside more serious stuff obviously, we have at-home tests now for these things. why are you requiring i go spread my germs at an urgent care or some shit? might as well have just gone to class instead, bc obviously with an attendance policy like that youd rather have students show up to class sick than actually recover lol

I came into class with a bright red face because of the fever and he asked if I was ok, to which I responded “no but I’m just hear for the grade” and then magically I was excused for the next class

I also got an apology email after and I was told if I really wasn’t feeling well then I should’ve gone to the health center to get a note. And I was like “I’m gonna be honest I didn’t know that was an option you would’ve accepted, and also I only got out of bed for this class”

No literally!!! Because if it was in the syllabus then I absolutely would’ve. The syllabus said no absences are excused except for school related, athletics, or military. Like he was terrible with communicating
