Just got diagnosed with PCOS and I’m honestly relieved. It makes me feel so much better now knowing what’s going on within my body and I’m so happy my gynecologist looked at every possible sign and scenario it could be

when i was diagnosed i refused birth control, but there r some things that have slightly helped. i think its important to mention i have *lean* pcos with IR, its not much different but a little different maintenance wise. my saving grace is spearmint tea twice a day and low sugar !! also walking after a meal to help w the IR.

I got diagnosed just under a year from now! I’m on progesterone only bc. I also switched my diet to only having carbs in the morning to lower my cortisol, and also do zone 2 cardio and strength training every night rather than more intense cardio

I have pcos and i suggest you look into metaformin! In many cases birth control is just a “bandaid” for the problem and its what I take but also that depends on what type of PCOS you have to target it better!!

Real I’m looking into foods that will help support my body inside and out since there’s really no treatment

I’d been on birth control since I was 15 and decided I wanted to get off of it last year and had a normal period up until about 4 months ago when it completely stopped. I had no clue what was going on so made a gyno appointment and explained what was happening and she took blood samples and scheduled me for an ultrasound. She said that my testosterone was high, the ultrasound showed my ovaries slightly larger than normal and with the missed period was all signs pointing to PMOS (thank you #2☺️)

My gynecologist prescribed me birth control so I’m starting that tonight! She said it should help but obviously there isn’t a treatment or cure

I’ve never heard of spironolactone before but I may do some research into it!

i only mentioned that i refused birth control not to persuade u or act like im better than anyone, but to explain that our situations may be a bit different and what has helped for me may be different with birth control added :))
