I give myself a week to bed rot and feel like complete shit. Then I write down what I brought to the table in a relationship/things that I think make me a good lover. Then I make another list of my standards. I don’t care how long that list is, I write every single one down. I remind myself if I can meet my standards, there are other people out there who can too. Remind yourself to not settle for someone who only loves a version of you or a made up version of you.
I have the biggest heart. After dealing and putting up with sooo much shit in HS w ex boyfriends, I legitimately had to step out of the dating field for like four years. Needless to say, at some point your heart will start to ice over some of the BS and that will make you less likely to want to get attached or love too hard.
I get on TikTok and watch videos of people in similar situations and I found out a lot about how low my standards were. (I ask myself how I would feel if you friend was dating someone I was dating). There is no such thing as there being only one person for you. This planet has billions of people and there is someone who will give you the energy you’re looking for.
Give yourself some grace and lots of self love. Talk about your feelings with your friends until you’re sick of hearing about it because that means you’re moving on (and real friends will listen to you). It’s shit and hard and feels impossible, but give yourself that time to bed rot then go from there. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 your person is out there
