She basically helps kids with their assignments and homework and all that kind of stuff. But she doesn’t have to do grading/lesson plans which is what she hated the most. Also she works one on one instead of having a classroom of 20 kids

not entirely. a large part of our profession is actually a lot of nonprofit management, grant writing, and statistical work. i'm not breaking that stereotype tho. i'm about to start working a suicide hotline 😭.

thanks! 😊 yeah! we got macro work and micro work. micro is more the one on one home visit stuff and macro is more communities and orgs, management, policy, and stuff. it's literally wild how many jobs a social worker can do. some chill (i did a chill early college intervention position for a bit (meeting with students and trying to get failing grades up)) and some crazy tough. (one of my cohort is working with really young SA victims, which i would not be able to stomach)

YESSS DEFINITELY DO!!! i highly encourage people to pursue social work. if u want to do therapy it's a way easier path to do that than doing the trad clinical counseling route. but also it's a solid in in terms of nonprofit work and working things like eldercare, childcare, nonprofit management, etc. my concentration is in macro work (in the process of getting my masters) but i'm also doing micro work so it's very flexible and cross disciplinary. additionally u don't have to have (1/2)

an undergrad in social work to go for the masters. we need more social workers and u can literally do so much with a MSW. some of my profs worked human trafficking before switching to nonprofit management. some worked crisis work before switching to therapy. literally so many doors and u can change what ur doing mid career and still progress.
