How old are you? And did you experience any barriers to getting the procedure (assuming it was voluntary and not for medical reasons)? I mean all of this kindly!! I don’t want kids and for years I’ve wanted my tubes removed but I’ve heard so many horror stories about how physicians refuse to give the surgery to anyone under a certain age or patients are required to get consent from a male partner. I just want to hear about your experience❤️❤️

not people complaining about your choice when it’s not even like you got a complete hysterectomy (which would’ve been ok too of course) but with tubes removed it just helps stop the chance of accidental pregnancy?? if you end up changing your mind at any point it would still be possible just through ivf

Okay dumbahhh question but do you still get your period if you have your tubes tied? I’d think so bc you still have ovaries but the egg can’t make it through

Side note, it’s crazy how some people think 20s is “too young” to decide you don’t want kids, but not “too young” to decide that you do! Pro-breeders treat having kids like adopting a goldfish. Kids are forever! If I can’t make a permanent decision to NOT have them, how can I make the permanent decision to have them?? Make it make sense

that part i would also like to know someone once told me they won’t do it unless it would benefit your overall health

required consent from a male partner ?? that’s crazy why can women not make choices for their own body without someone else’s consent !? free us 😭

I feel like you can easily get around this with a lawyer. You shouldn’t have to, but there’s no way that’s legal to need a man’s consent on my medical choices lol.

literally it’s crazy it reminds me of the “husband stitch” that is still performed on women after birth without their knowledge to make them “tighter” 😖

Like my birth control completely halts the process of ovulation so I don’t get my period. But I still have ovaries you know

Yes I still get my period but instead of egg and uterine lining, it’s just the uterine lining. I still have my eggs so if I wanna get pregnant via IVF I can.

- yes I still have a period but instead of the egg it's just the uterine lining. - I am disabled and pregnancy could potentially kill me because of this (kids aren't worth potentially dying sorry not sorry) - If I want to have children in the future I can use a surrogate or adopt but considering my mental health issues I don't see either of those happening.

- I talked to my primary care doctor, my neurologist, my therapist, and my OBGYN and they all agree that this procedure was responsible and necessary. - I live in a blue state and blue county so luckily I didn't have to jump through many hoops in order to get it done. - because of my disability I can't take hormonal birth control (I saw the implant suggestion) and I had a copper IUD for a while but at the end of the day, this is just better for me personally.

which is fair! i was just mentioning that for the people commenting about how “terrible” it is that doctors agreed to the procedure despite the fact a woman should be able to make medical decisions regarding their reproductive ability for themself

truly a shame that there are actually doctors performing these procedures out there. it should be against the law to alter the human body in such a way that prevents pregnancy and childbirth, for that ability is sacred and foundational to society! hookup culture is the modern-day plague man, God help us.
