are there any movies that empower women that you don’t think are faux/unnecessary? lets name titles

but the thing is, it isn’t over the top. it’s deadass just showing women that they’re more than what they’re “made for.” if you think that’s woke, there’s something wrong with you. also, there’s nothing wrong with being woke?? it’s called being informed and a good person. god forbid people want to be represented

are u a man? i also feel like when it comes to feminist media, people only have an issue when it’s considered “liberal”. why can’t women just have media to themselves for them to feel and indulge in without a man poking in and saying how he thinks it’s liberal and over the top. it wasn’t made for you! so many ppl were touched by the movie, if it wasn’t for you its okay. just don’t downplay its meaning and message like it doesn’t have one

i really can’t believe we live in a time where media meant to uplift women is considered “woke” what a fucking joke.

well my message still stands. why is it an issue when feminist media presents as “liberal”? and what’s funny is that the liberal message in question is probably,”women are more than mothers and dish washing machines.” get real

so you disagree with the ideology that women can be more than baby making machines and in house maids? how can u be a woman and not advocate for who u are?

there will always be an uneven power dynamic! yes you are a gay man, but you’re still a man at the end of the day who can hide that fact😭 women in countries are having their genitals mutilated, reproductive rights being tampered with, and so much more disrespect for something they cannot control: who they were born as. it’s hard to look out for one another when there are people who aren’t women who bash us for stupid shit everyday! that is why feminism and advocacy is so important

wasn’t stating that you’re a gay man, just using an example btw

you do realize that the movie depicts how women are taken down by men in society, right? like… it actively represents how men automatically view women as lesser than them which puts them at the bottom of the totem pole while men are put on a pedestal by other men. men can be “just men” but girls are expected to adhere to incredibly unrealistic standards/stereotypes under the patriarchy.
