Omg yes. I have a 3rd grader who reads at a 2nd grade level and their math is at a 1st grade level. I’m trying so hard to work with this student but I can only do so much, their parents and actual teacher have to do the rest of the work as I am just a tutor

i’m just a para so i can only help my student (he’s at like a 6th grade level in 9th grade) and at this point i feel like it’s lowkey a lost cause. obviously im doing everything i can to support him, but i’ve been told im too “hands on” by admin for working on correcting all of his grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. when his english teacher asked me to. if it weren’t for that, he’d be failing all of his essays and the class in general
