why has drinking while pregnant or breastfeeding become normalized? a very pregnant woman ordered a beer the other day then another woman orders a cocktail then breastfeeds her baby while drinking it. like are we dumb now?

Because we’ve normalized doing what WE want. We’re being taught that if we’re doing something to our own body that it doesn’t matter what the consequences are cause it’s our body

If your drinking while pregnant that doesn’t just effect the person pregnant, it also effects the baby. If you want to drink while pregnant no one can’t stop you but you shouldn’t be having kids.

Yea that’s what I’m saying. It has consequences but it’s normalized because of what I said above

I think education has something to do with it as well. While people are arguing over if sex education should be taught in schools many young women are finding out theirs a lot they did not know about pregnancy. And with the DOE getting gutted it’s only going to get worse

Agreed with #2 cause sex and pregnancy go hand in hand. If ppl already are squeamish about sex education then how are others supposed to know the ins and outs of pregnancy? If someone’s only experience/education of pregnancy is through people who drink and say the baby was fine, the they’re more likely to do it too. Plus our society has a weird perception on alcoholism and ppl who don’t drink
