Most of my aunts are like big on tanning so when they see me without makeup they act like I’m a vampire because I wear sunscreen on my face and protect my skin

They’re also connected to the “beef tallow is a cure all” crowd because some of them use the stuff as a “substitute”

Sorry, I don’t show an ounce of respect to people who don’t believe in science. You will get cancer. I’m not being an asshole that’s just the proof. You’ll get cancer from your own stupidity. Those are both factual statements

I’m sorry, we’re supposed to be nice in the face of willful ignorance? I’m with 8, it’s not being an asshole when that’s the consequence of not using sunscreen

It’s not like everyone before sunscreen was getting cancer. That’s a false assumption not a fact

It’s too much…to call not wearing sunscreen a dumb decision? Yeah ok

Girlie we didn’t have screening for cancer then, that’s the only reason why it seems like people weren’t getting cancer but they definitely were 😭

That’s only part of what you said but yeah ok. You’re so real for that I do the same thing when I wanna be an asshole

Bruh not everyone was getting it. Period. Sure we know when people get it more often now but that doesn’t change the fact that not everyone got it. Go cry somewhere else

Not everybody gets it/got it but like why would I take the unnecessary risk? Sunscreen is such a simple and honestly pretty revolutionary thing to prevent a long existing problem

You don’t have to take that risk. I simply do cause I feel like it. I like the way the sun feels, I don’t like being sticky or rubbing sand onto my body to reapply the stuff. If makes me breakout. I’m glad it exists for those that like it enough but I don’t it’s a sensory nightmare and a lot of chemicals sunscreens haven’t been tested enough for me personally. They started finding the chemicals in people’s blood and we haven’t had enough time to study long term

“That’s a false assumption not a fact” okay so let me break this down for your dumb little brain. Cancer screenings accessible now. Cancer screenings not accessible in past. Cancer killed many in past, no one know why cause no cancer screening. Sun screen invented, lower skin cancer, less people die. Enjoy your wrinkles and stage 4 metastatic melanoma at 30 and die a very slow painful death

“Dumb shit” as in stuff backed by science for decades. Don’t procreate, you’ll just abuse your children and neglect them

Dumb shit as in you saying that people didn’t know cancer existed cause cancer screening didn’t exist. Brush up before you talk down to people

8 said that they were harder to access, not that they didn’t exist. Get some reading comprehension before you talk down to those who can read a medical journal.

Jesus Christ 8 still said that people didn’t know why cancer patients were dying without knowing why because screening wasn’t available. They did actually know why they died. They knew they were dying of cancer. People knew cancer was happening before they invented screening for it. They just found out late. They died because they found out late. They didn’t die for mysterious reasons up until screenings
