Whenever I open the door for someone right behind me bc thats the polite & kind thing to do i think of the time my ex said you cant get mad at someone for not saying thank you & acknowledging you bc they never asked you to do that 😭 where are the manners

i think that’s just a good thing to remember in general. if you do something nice of your own accord you shouldn’t be expecting people to shower you in praise. i’ve definitely met people who do lots of nice stuff because they “want to” and then throw it in your face to get what they want from you

I mean yeah in general you’re right but it’s not like I want to be showered in praise, that’d make me uncomfortable. Just a short “thanks” or even a smile of acknowledgment would do lol. I just think it’s kinda weird to completely ignore strangers like that lol

oh yeah totally i think it’s rude but it is a good mindset to have when you’re trying to do good deeds in general
