i have, the process at my college is academic warning, academic probation, then suspension for 3 semesters (can do early reinstatement if you have proof of extenuating circumstances, depression), but when you’re placed on academic warning, you’re typically placed with the academic recovery department if your college has one- they will help you set up a success plan and you have to meet with them a couple times throughout the semester -
Being placed on academic warning is actually a lot more common than people think because it’s just not talked about. if people are suspended, it’s actually like 70% (at my school at least) of people don’t come back for early reinstatement or at all. But if you want to get better, you basically just have to prove that with the school based on if you’re on academic warning or probation.
you are not stupid for waiting because I did the same thing, you won’t be able to fix that now but that’s okay!! going forward you just have to make a plan either with someone from the recovery office if you have one or on your own time. Everyone has at least one bad semester, if someone says they have never struggled once throughout the semester, they are lying.
