Every time I think “all men” I remember what Chanel miller said in her book about the 2 Swedish exchange students that saved her. I know it’s the majority, but to know there’s still that few willing to stand up for what is right gives me hope.

When a maintenance worker walked into my room while I was not dressed in bed without announcing himself, my male roommate took it upon himself to go scream at the office workers who weren’t taking the situation seriously. He didn’t even tell me he was doing that. I’ve never seen him so angry in my life and I think about it a lot.

I’m so sorry, that must’ve been fucking awful. You deserve to feel safe in your own room. 💔 Hearing that someone stood up for you like that makes me happy, but it’s awful that it even happened in the first place.

Thank you 🫶🏼 I definitely have some trauma from it and now lock my bedroom door if my partner isn’t home since we moved out from that town house, but it was at least really reassuring to know I have men who have my back like that, and that there are at least some genuinely good men out there!
