As a queer nb person I’m always weirded out when job applications include that. I can see it being used to discriminate against applicants or collect data on people. With how hostile the US government is towards LGBTQ folks (especially trans ppl rn), those questions feel malicious and invasive to me

It’s one thing to let applicants fill out a preferred name or titles like “Mr, Ms, etc”, but asking for someone’s sexuality is weird af

thats exactly what my thought was! ive filled out 100+ job applications on indeed alone in the last 4 months, and god knows how many in my life, never have i ever seen that as a question. they had to add that, and like…why do u need to know…super sketchy🤨
