Does anyone see other girls on tiktok being so scared to get a Pap smear? Please get tested, it’s u comfy and can be awkward but it’s not painful! If it is let ur gyno know. Cancer hurts worse than a 2 minute check up

I’ve had painful visits fs but you’re 100% right, a minute of pain is much better than cancer

ok fine I’ll call mh gyno to schedule tomorrow :( I had an appt a few months ago to have a string check for my IUD but waited an HOUR in the waiting room and had to leave to go to work and never rescheduled. But I also need a Pap smear now too. Goddamnit. I should just get tested for everything when I’m there too

Now IUD I’m scared of. I’ve heard horrible stories about that. How was the process?

Valid fear 😭 if the hormonal IUD is anything like nexplanon it sounds like a nightmare through and through

Everyone’s experience is soo different so let me preface with that. But my experience wasn’t bad at all. Insertion takes >2mins and feels like the worst period cramp you get from the week and then it’s over and periods go away entirely. I got one because I used to have heavy bleeding, cramps leaving me bed bound, tunnel vision with cramps, hot flashes etc. around 4-5 months of having one I stopped getting a period in general

I got my first one at 18, got that one removed this year (mine lasts 5 years but I had it replaced after 4 for precautions). And removal hurt a lot more than insertion. I have penetrative sex, so it can cause the strings that hang from the cervix to be pushed up into the cervix, so I almost needed surgery for removal because they couldn’t find the strings to pull it out for like 5-10 mins and that hurt like HELL

But anyways. I always highly recommend getting an IUD. I have a blood clotting disorder and cannot be on hormonal birth control, so my IUD only releases progesterone which doesn’t effect clotting as far as I’m aware (it’s called Kyleena), and I looove not having a period. I still get kinda achey and boobs hurt for a bit but I don’t even spot anymore

Ahh okay that’s a lot! I don’t like birth control for that reason personally 😭 I had to go to the gyno for the first time for pmdd, my emotions got so bad before and the first time I took it delayed my period and leaving me in that state where my emotions would be elevated…ofc the medicine helped but it was weird. I like getting my period bc the mood swings (hormones) go away

I could see how that could be painful. How can they fix it?
