I hear the argument that “comics shouldn’t be political” a lot and it’s makes me so angry. Captain America’s first appearance was him punching Hitler. The X-Men face discrimination in every storyline they have. In Superman’s very first appearance he deals with corruption. Politics have always been in politics, people are just complaining about it now because they’re starting to realize the characters they grew up on would never be on their side.
