Oh girl you have to do makeup for a pageant. All the other girls will be wearing it and you will look washed out compared to them. You’re also going to be under heavy stage lights, caked on makeup is normal for pageants.

I kept showing them past winners and they’re just convinced that the girls’ parents just bribed the judges cause they can’t believe a girl with “caked makeup” would win a beauty pageant when it should be all about “natural beauty”. I don’t know why they say that, I’m convinced it’s cause mum doesn’t know how to do makeup

If they’re convinced the parents are bribing the judges, they can ask the judges. Or encourage them to report this supposed bribery to whoever runs these things and have them explain it to them. It probably is because your mother can’t do makeup sadly
