TW: SI/depression Lmk why it’s still “normal” for so many of us to literally want to unalive ourselves for 7+ days every month? After two attempts during my late luteal phase, I’m still told to just take birth control even though it made my PMDD worse?

PMDD has genuinely ruined my quality of life? And I have to deal with this for potentially 3-4 more decades? Hello? 👁️👄👁️

It’s infuriating. Even if they don’t care about our welfare and quality of life as individuals with our own worth outside of reproductive capacity, do they not realize that finding treatments for conditions like this will enable more women to 1) be able to work more/contribute to the economy, 2) feel well enough to ✨not die✨/have more babies and 3) cost the government less for our mental healthcare? It literally pays to take us seriously.

But ofc my biggest motivation is just wanting others to just be happy and never have to feel this way. It is hell. I’ve lost so much productivity and almost my life itself to PMDD. It is suffering that must have a treatable cause. It’s not coming from nowhere.
