I love running and I can walk/run on flat ground forever but stairs always leave me out of breath, so I think the only way to work those muscle might be stairmaster
I might try to do those more but in all seasons except for summer i prefer to go outside and walk since I like the fresh air. I like to do jump rope and at home exercises as well. I might start going to gym more for treadmill since I love walking but like it’s gettign out of hand

if you’re usually fine in those instances and it’s just the stairs you may need to use the treadmill on an incline and the stairmaster
