I’m debating going to a gynecologist to see if my period is abnormal but I HATE going to the doctors. I avoid it at all costs. I’ve also never been to a gynecologist ever 😬 i know I should but I’m in uni and don’t want to find a doc just to graduate soon

going to the gyno regularly is how u avoid ending up with deadly cancer that's too far along to treat

I found a telehealth gyno who takes my insurance on zocdoc! I was trying to make an in person appointment with the dr my mom sees but couldn’t get in until April and I had some things I wanted addressed asap. It was nice to be in my own space having the conversations instead of going into an office. They can order blood labs and ultrasounds as needed too. Also i got in next day for the appointment, if you need a Pap smear it might not be the option for you tho, idk if they order those out

i think it's def worth it, ive been in and out of gynos a lot and I never found it all that bad. i think asking questions and knowing what's going on can make the appointment a lot less stressful, and I definitely think it's worth it if you're having issues with abnormal periods (me too girl )

You’re allowed to shop around with gynos! Find one that makes you feel the most comfortable. You can always ask around too about what local gynos are best. I personally see an all women staffed gyno and they’re the best! I do know some women though who prefer male gynos and work perfect for them ^^

Also you can request to do the abdominal ultrasound and not the pelvic if you’re worried. I have a lot of anxiety around it and since I’m not active and under 21 it was no issue!
