FOR REAL. You don’t have to like an administration. No one will ever fully agree…but we are feeling bad for a regime that silences rights of life by murder and imprisonment, and rejects notions of female independence? No fundamental freedom, no protest ability, no voice, no dignity? The same country that’s been threatening the US for years? But now we’re boohooing and crying for the Iranian regime after ignoring their protests and massacres after how long of US protests for other countries?
I agree Americans are privileged fucks who needn’t worry for their safety or security when it comes at the behest of the rest of the world but some ppl are scared shitless on behalf of the global working class, esp in the global south. & I feel like ppl having been out crying about Iran for decades? A lot of the outcry against Iran, in the west at least, is to manufacture consent for regime change. The real enemy is the US empire, not the Iranian government. Iranians deserve sovereignty
YUP. And I mean, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely hate this administration. But it’s becoming abundantly clear that people just read headlines and then like make up their own information about what’s really going on. And also, I’m seeing so many people being like “oh no! Should I go to work tomorrow? I’m so scared. WW3 is here.” Like please be so fr, you’re completely fine in your little midwestern suburb, let’s not draw the attention away from the people that are actually impacted
“WWIII–I DON’T WANNA GET DRAFTED”awesome, so actually the US was not involved until years after the wars started and we were directly threatened by the Zimmerman Telegram and unrestricted German U-boat activity in WWI and the Pearl Harbor attack in WWII. We were also fighting more primitive warfare back then, but NO ONE wants to go nuclear IMMEDIATELY. Like, Kentucky is NOT on anyone’s list, Suzie, you’ll be just fine🤪
Like my main thing is be anti-administration. VOTE. That is your right to choose your administration and sometimes it doesn’t go the way you want. But anti-US? The place you live? Love? Should and have the opportunity to be happy? No where is perfect, but look at the freedoms we get to enjoy and take for granted because we assume we are given these rights everywhere!
Yea I also don’t think it helps that Gen Z (and maybe some younger millennials) was born around or post 9/11 and then there was the 2003 invasion of Iraq, housing crisis, covid, invasion of Ukraine, now all of this which makes us just overly fearful of war. But then you have (not all but at least what I’ve experienced) the older adults who’ve been through the Cold War, Vietnam war and Korea who aren’t as phased because it’s just what happens.
Atp, you’re intentionally being dense. The message of this post is specifically about people in the west making this entire event about themselves on social media and leaving a flood of tone deaf comments in their wake. Iranian people are specifically celebrating the death of their LEADER, but you seem hell bent on misunderstanding me so please continue to do so if that makes u feel better
