Why is it such a phenomenon for women to hold their tongue about their friends’ boyfriends even when he’s a horrible person??? Why is it so taboo to tell your friend that her bf is weird and doesn’t treat her well?? It IS your place to say something

because then they’re quick to say it’s not your place/business. i’ve always been the one most likely to speak my mind about boyfriends it even ruined a friendship before (we’ve reconnected and are cool now) but it’s very tricky

It’s wild bc it literally is my business if im seeing my friend suffer and lose her mind over someone who doesnt gaf about her… and same i almost lost a friendship over it. the patriarchy is truly so insidious

it gets to a point where i just stop being responsive to anything involving their boyfriend. i’ll tell them i just want them to be happy and if they are that’s all that matters and that’ll be the last i have to say about it
