I’ve struggled with tearing during sex for the past three years now. The sex can be enjoyable, but there’s also a lot of pain during the sex from the tear site as well as the pain of the initial tear during entry. I feel like I have PTSD with sex now.

It sounds horrible to say, but I can’t think of sex now without associating it with pain. It’s been very hard for me to navigate. Like I used to love reading romance books but now even with sex scenes I internally cringe like “wow that must really hurt.” I have no pain touching myself so I’m fine there, but penetration pain has messed with my psych so much. I’m very young too. I’m only 22.

u need to be doing foreplay until ur wet/fully turned on, then use lube EVERYTIME if this is happening. if it continues after u add both of these things then u need to see a doctor

I’ve seen lots of doctors about it. I’ve gone on steroid creams, estrogen creams, and am doing pelvic floor therapy. Nothing is working.

I recently ordered the Kiwi (a sex toy) that’s supposed to help women who struggle with penetrative sex.

It’s supposed to help “prep” your vagina for sex by massaging your perineum area and increase blood flow. It’s gotten really good reviews from people who struggle with sexual intercourse. How did you get diagnosed with vaginismus? I’m having a hard time getting any definite answers from doctors.
