It’s so unfair that girls get their period so young but boys get to still be kids

Girls have been getting their periods earlier and earlier as time goes on and I think it’s linked to processed foods and pollution.

Yeah the endocrine disruptors are probably the cause. We have a lot of things in daily foods that mimic estrogen and things which I think would effect young girls more than other groups

Well boys with too much estrogen can cause complications during puberty as well, I’m not sure on the effects but men have been seeing a major decrease in sperm production from the same reasons

And a general decrease in the number of males being born

Yeah it could potentially cause issues with boys but I think it would specifically push girls to have their periods sooner

It doesn’t have the same effect on boys but girls specifically hit puberty sooner because of higher estrogen or estrogen mimicking chemicals at younger ages

I’m sure it does. I just remember learning in class that less males are born each year bc of how much estrogen we’re consuming. But the body turns excess estrogen into testosterone so 🤷‍♀️ who knows

Hmmm interesting! I thought that higher estrogen in men’s bodies made their sperm to have higher density of Y chromosomes so they were more likely to have boys

It’s been 2/3 years since I took that class so I can’t remember all the details. I’ll have to see if I can find my notes on it

Yeah like I said in my original comment the increase in estrogen causes girls to have a more younger occurring puberty. Boys will have a delayed puberty and affects their puberty by delaying it. It also causes ED, infertility, and increase in breast tissue. Estrogen also plays a part in the skeletal system.
