As someone who exclusively cuts my own hair go slow!!!!! Like a quarter inch at a time!!! You can always cut more but you can’t cut less!! Watch tutorials but if you feel like you can’t get what you want don’t try bc you’ll be unhappy unless you’re cool with having hair you don’t like for a bit ! The good news is that it’s just hair it’ll grow back. Another piece of advice if you start not liking it or you make a mistaken put the scissors down you can get it fixed at a stylist

Dry cut, always cut shorter than where you want it to actually be, you can always cut more off but not instantly add more!

My hair is so long that I just went for a bunch bc I was like if I mess up I’ll just go to a salon and get a shorter haircut.. but I followed this tutorial and now my hair looks exactly the same length but with layers which I wanted it shorter but.. and I genuinely have no idea if it looks good or stupid

I think I’ve decided that I think the layers look fine besides now it looks like there’s not enough hair on the bottom if that makes any sense and I just wanna chop it off but that’s an awful idea.. but also idk what I’m talking about
