I think my sister (28) should to breakup with her bf (36). They’re constantly fighting, shes always crying and I feel like hes a bum. No car, doesn’t want a better job, lives with his mother. Hes passive aggressive from my view. How can I talk to her?

u can't tell her tht u think they should breakup straight up. u gotta ask how she's feeling abt the relationship and then maybe express ur concerns on how ur seeing how often she's crying then let her knw ur here for her and just want what's best for her and if she thinks that's hum

As someone with a sister in an emotionally/mentally ab^sive relationship I just want to absolve you of any responsibility you might feel to fix this. I struggled a lot coming to terms with the fact that people have to make those choices for themselves. My sister would straight up call her gf manipulative and agree with me it was a toxic/ab^sive relationship yet still stayed with her. You can voice your concerns to her but I would prioritize keeping your own relationship w her steady (be careful-

Honestly girl I feel like there is no convincing her. Sometimes people are right where they want to be for the sake of just being in a relationship!

-shit talking him in any capacity or being too blunt about your criticisms) so that if and when she did decide to get out, she knows where she can find her support. If she takes your criticisms too close to heart, she might push you away, and then never leave bc she doesn’t feel like she has the support system to be successful.

Again I know this is super crappy and I feel for you. It’s so gut wrenching and frustrating to watch them continue to make the unhealthy decisions for themselves. But THEY have to be the ones to pull THEMSELVES out of it, THEY have to make that choice. I wish you the best of luck in convincing her she’s worth more than this!!! Keep hyping her up and she might remember her worth!
