from a teacher perspective - it’s good that he’s at least trying. even if he doesn’t have the skills to comprehend the text yet, it’s still very valuable to practice reading anyway. and he has a lot of young viewers, i know a lot of my students watch him. promoting reading at all is worth my praise these days
also, just in general we’re in an era of content creation and influencers. they get praised for flushing the toilet these days, i wouldn’t pay them any attention at this point. but at least in this scenario he’s promoting reading especially to kids who may have similar skills to him
I 100% agree as a writing major, he said he’s doing it bc he’s perusing fashion. Apparently he’s found that he’s gotten a lot of anxiety when it comes to talking in debates bc it’s been hard for him to articulate himself. So he’s educating himself to be able to talk about fashion when someone asks him about the details in his clothing line
And yeah we def praise influencers for doing the bare minimum. But this is the promotion we need when students are letting AI think for them. We constantly talk about the literacy rates in our country but then turn around and poke fun at ppl trying to better themselves and learn. I don’t think i could ever knock him for what he is doing rn. Hopefully it influences people into following the same path as him
