as a girl who is literally balding (genetics + health) ,, the attachment between hair & beauty is so strong in our lives, it feels like the world is collapsing when i see another strand fall. a piece of hair is simultaneously nothing yet everything !!!

I would check ur vitamin d, iron/ferratin levels, and hormones. Personally I was balding and when I got my blood test done I was severely ferratin and vitamin d deficient. My hair hasn’t grow back yet but I’m supplementing so hopefully it will but these deficiencies are linked to hair loss

Real!!! I finally, after years of being insecure, got a prescription for meds to regrow my hair. I am so happy I took this step and so sad I’ve been suffering in silence for years

Ive never been able to get my hair past shoulder length (my mom has super long hair, so Im not sure if it’s genetics) and it’s made me feel very insecure and unfeminine and frustrated.

Right now it’s the longest it’s ever been but it just can’t seem to hit longer than that length.

If it’s length you struggle with, try a bonding treatment (I like olaplex 7 and/or the redkin acidic bonding system) and maybe biotin or keratin supplements if you haven’t tried those already!

(my hair is currently virgin at the top tho as the bleached strands all fell out over time)

Also, if your hair can handle it, there is no shame in getting extensions if that will make you feel happier and more secure about your hair! Once mine grows back (from the scalp) I 1000% plan on getting some extensions to aid in length

I would love to, so much. I bought some for $80 earlier this year, but the color is nicer than my actual color and they’re clip in. What kind of extensions?

One thing that I’ve learned is that hair growth is super dependent on how healthy it is down to the ends. If it splits then it’s going to break before it can get length!! So bonding treatments are my best friend!!

I want to get the beaded ones. I’m not sure what they’re called. Let me find a picture and description hold on

Yes pls. Do you have to go to a salon?

Okok apparently they are wefts. They bead them into your hair similar to like tinsel or (if you remember in the 2010s) feathers. From what I have researched, these are good for your hair if you properly take care of them and take breaks every now and again

I think so for the wefts, but it’s about 6-8 weeks between appointments and getting them “filled” is cheaper than the initial appointment. You could, with all things, learn to do them yourself though!

No worries girl!! And rn, my hair is kinda thinner the top and the back so I’m working on regrowing that (with meds) before I even THINK about extensions. But it’s about to my shoulder blades. I can’t get it past mid-back without it being scraggly and needing cut. But when I’m consistent with my bonding txs it can get closer to lower back and still be healthy!! But I compulsively chop it every time it gets to that length so I can’t speak to the health if it at that point hahahaha
