I don’t think it’s disrespect to grieve

communicate that with your partner. tell them why this is so hard for you and that you want to be respectful of yalls relationship. everyone grieves in their own way and trust me when i say that trying to push it down does a LOT more harm than good.

you’re literally the one grieving and you’re worrying about how he might react to it. free women honestly

your ex was someone that you had feelings for, spent time with and likely went through ups and downs with. it’s insanely valid to be upset by their passing, and your current partner shouldn’t feel like you don’t love them because of that

imagine your current partner in the same situation, how would you respond? how would you feel? if you truly care about each other, then giving space (if needed) and allowing your partner to grieve is 10000% acceptable. you just lost someone you loved at one point, it is natural (and expected) that you have strong feelings ab this. grieving isn’t easy and your partner should be accommodating to you ❤️❤️

again, it’s easier to give grace to someone else than yourself. so, just imagine your partner in the same position, you will get through this and you aren’t alone
