I used to be a big girl and one day i decided to just say fuck it and lose a bunch of weight. Men will literally get things for me, buy things, open doors (that wasn’t a normal occurrence as a big girl), give me free stuff, and just want to spark up conversations all the time. It still feels weird and I’m trying to get used to it but it also sucks because all I did was lose weight. I’m still me.
I was always the “ugly” girl growing up. So my senior year of hs when I had my glow up and I came back to school I was treated so differently. It’s really sad because I never thought to treat someone differently based on how they look. I’m now going on 20 and still struggle with my image. So trust, it def does exist.
I for sure agree, but also as a person who has pretty privilege it honestly gets exhausting and just feels like getting harassed every time I leave the house. Sometimes compliments are nice but I made a habit of dressing worse on purpose sometimes just so I don’t get harassed in public smh. People always feel entitled to u when u just want to exist
no this is so real!!! i’m still a big girl but a lot of my weight is now in my lower body. i usually wear baggy clothes & when running errands i don’t care too much about my appearance at all. i usually smile at strangers and some may be nice. it was just a LOT different being all made up instead of my usual “little boy” look lol
honestly, i’ve always felt like i was cosplaying a pretty girl and failing at it miserably. i’ve said to many people i feel like im putting lipstick on a pig. what’s helped me is taking my self care more seriously. i have my times of dressing up but really not too many. i look at people online and things such as makeup that i like on them, i now try on myself. i do little things that make me feel pretty.
whatever body shape you have is cute. seeing what other girls with your shape is wearing is very helpful. i know im insecure of how my body in certain outfits. i found “midsize fashion” and try to play around in the outfits i see on those girls. hair and makeup too. try things that you find pretty and embrace things that make you feel prettier. growing up i even had to stand in mirrors pointing on small things i liked about myself. it honestly helped a lot even if at first i thought it was silly
it’s more i just don’t exist to other people and not people like try to be nice to me sometimes. i do think i still kinda scare people off still on account of the rbf. i’m soooo much more confident. beforehand i was kind of a shut in and i hated socializing or going out and now im able to actually go talk to people like get out and be a person it’s so much better
But the thing is I don’t want to be stuck in the “midsize fashion” box. I don’t want to feel like I have to copy the women who nobody lists over or talks about how pretty they are just to feel like I fit a box correctly, I just want to be what people already consider to be pretty or cute. I never see people call women who look like me pretty or cute, the best compliments we get are from fem lesbians assuming we’re butches when we’re actually just like them and just want to feel cute and loved
