i work 7-2 at one job and 3-7 at another. they’re 15min apart and my place is in between. an hr in between should be plenty for me to do wtv i gotta do but u wanna constantly make it where i have to change in the work bathroom and go straight to my other job!! it’s so disrespectful

Went to lunch w my friend the other day who was talking abt how her sons daycare is always calling her to come get him and she had to leave work early and her boss gets on to her like…… well, duh. I’d be pissed it’s simply not fair. U chose to had a kid that doesn’t mean u should get to leave early multiple times a week. I get an emergency but like how come u get special treatment.

i’m so torn bc on one hand i do understand the complications of having kids, but it makes stuff hard on everyone else. this same girl breastfeeds so her husband will bring the baby by every so often and like. yes, baby has to eat and mom has to work whatever job she can get, but it’s so frustrating to have someone stepping out mid-shift like that in a food service job when she ALSO gets her normal break on top of that. so she’s stepping out 2-3x per shift

we’re like chronically understaffed too, a full staff for us would be 7 but we typically only have 3-4 people but then it drops down to 2 after noon

This I think is different because even if the baby isn’t physically there, she would still need to pump otherwise she would be physically uncomfortable and in pain. This is a reasonable accommodation

i never said it wasn’t reasonable. i should prob clarify i’m frustrated w/ management, not her. if we actually staffed appropriately then it wouldn’t be a big deal if one person stepped out for a little bit. as it stands, one person stepping out ruined the whole flow esp during peak times which is part of why she got moved to the PM shift when we’re way less busy
