Why do my parents act like I’m a naive baby. I’m moving to a bigger city and I’m 26 and they’re like always be aware of your surroundings…like no shit it’s not my first day on earth

They’re probably just looking out for you, totally normally for parents to have anxiety when their kids move away (especially to a bigger city)

I get it :,) my parents were definitely worried when I moved to a bigger city, and tbf I’ve heard gunfire outside my apartment a few times already, but I think yours will settle down after a bit like mine did. I’m from a literal village in the boonies so the concept of city living is foreign to my parents
