 still pissed off that my “friend” said “well aren’t your parents sort of at that point?” implying they’ll die soon after i said i just went to a horrible funeral (very sad) and i don’t want to do that again for a while (cont. in comments)

“It’s just a dark humored joke” but you’re not laughing. It doesn’t matter the intention you don’t see it as a joke it’s not a joke point blank period. He needs to apologize and his gf needs to mind her business because who is she to tell you to apologize?

and then i mentioned his grandpa who is the same age as my dad so by definition his grandpa is at that point too + he’s on oxygen his gf is demanding i apologize because “i knew he meant it as a dark humored joke” absolutely not

she’s also the one who tells him how to take care of himself and announces to everyone when it’s “his bedtime” and “time to shower” 🫩

i argued that i’m only comfortable with making dark humored jokes about my own experiences / parents because i can cope. having someone tell me that they’re gonna die soon RIGHT after i had just talked about the horrific funeral i attended yesterday is not really the “joke moment”

If she wants to treat him like a child that’s fine but the rest of the world is gonna treat him like the adult he is and aren’t gonna laugh when his “joke” doesn’t land. Yeah there’s a huge difference between making dark jokes about your own situation and making dark jokes about other’s situations. Also I completely missed the fact you just came from a FUNERAL. Holy terrible timing Batman

I don’t feel bad for airing out his business, but he’s in college right now and he wants to drop out because “it’s too hard” but yet he’s not actually putting in any of the work because every single time he’s “doing his homework” he’s actually playing video games and his girlfriend has to scold him like a mother.

it’s a friend group, there’s 10-12 people in the group so i tolerate the two bad people in order to hang out with everyone else
