It’s a whole other level of frustrating seeing a public situation where a woman was cheated on by her husband and seeing men’s first posts be “well maybe she was just high maintenance” instead of calling out the husband

Every time I see a man say he cheated because his girlfriend/fiancé/wife was “high maintenance” or whatever the fuck I want to scream THEN LEAVE HER FIRST. There’s no way to come out of that situation not a douchebag but why are you tacking cheater on top of it?

And 99.999% of the time the “high maintenance” is just her doing the same things she’s done her whole life

To be extra clear I don’t agree when men do this I just don’t get why they don’t just leave unhappy relationships

Not to defend men, sorry, but I think it’s because they’re never taught that you’re actually meant to like the person you marry, rather than just tolerating them enough to raise kids with them. It’s why “I hate my wife” comedians and jokes are more popularized among older gens. Cheating is also the much more normalized option between that and leaving :/

Personally though, if we’re looking at this on a much more selfish level from the cheater’s POV, is that not so much more work than just leaving and sleeping with whoever you want? I imagine you’d have to plan things out and sneak around much more.
