I have been exfoliating with sugar scrub(not aggressively) and then I will shave with the grain first, and then against the grain for a smoother finish. I find it doesn’t fully eliminate bumps and ingrowns, but since I’ve started doing this it has gotten a little better.

Personally what I do is I shave going with the grain first, then side to side, and then against the grain if I want it very smooth. BUT the key for going against the grain is to pull your skin tight (so like pull it up ig? Idk how to explain this well😭) ,exfoliate after, and then lastly moisturize with a non scented lightweight lotion. I rarely get bumps for razor burn if I do this method every couple weeks.

i started waxing over the summer and now it’s made shaving SO MUCH easier. i use baby oil and it helps a bit i think!

Also an important note is this method is to be used on a grown out bush only cause if you do this on even just a week of growth you’re gonna get bumps, it’s gotta have time to rest between each shave😔 learned this the hard way
