he said he wants to explore who he is and not have anything “holding him back”. he loved everything our relationship offered, but it wasnt giving him room to explore himself

I say this with love, but do not wait for that guy. There shouldn’t be ANYTHING he can’t explore with you unless it’s him wanting to go do his own thing. That’s not how relationships work. He does not value you as much as he should

I’m not even trying to insinuate there was anything wrong with the relationship, however, if he can’t commit because he wants to do things he assume you’ll disapprove of, then it’s good you know now. It saves a lot of heartache to know now rather than later when you’re more attached by engagement or marriage, trust me
