I feel this too, I’m mixed and my parents did everything they could to assimilate to US culture. I don’t even speak a second language and it’s depressing sometimes not being able to communicate with relatives

a lot of typically white cultures can have some sort of community heritage - nordic cultures come to mind first. my family is genetically tied to scandinavia but we’ve never done anything to try to connect to it and i feel like a fraud if i did lol

exactly!! i’m irish and scottish and welsh and all sorts of things but the only thing i participate in is irish and that’s alcoholism and my bday is st patrick’s day 💔

I’m a white American and I have no problem connecting with my culture. The only reason you think Americans don’t have culture is because it is so widespread that other countries now adopt many American practices such as music, sports, movies, fashion, and food

music, sports, movies, fashion, and food are not american culture… maybe football yeah but there was rugby, food? what? hot dogs hamburgers fries? all other places. music? yeah rap and hip hop came from the bronx. fashion? be so fr… americans “culture” is something that was stolen from another culture then we changed one thing abt it and called it our own… also american is NOT a race, it’s a nationality and we’re talking abt our RACE! like irish, scottish, welsh, british, german…

there’s a reason american isn’t called a race… america is literally called the mixing pot of races… do ur research cuz u sound a little dumb saying americans have their own culture. if u can name me ONE thing that americans originated without stealing from another culture (other than music) then be my guest…
