Does anyone have any advice for cramps from hell. I’m so tired of being stuck in a ball for the first 24 hours. I tried a birth control and it made me emotionally unstable. I have a suspicion it’s possibly pcos but the nearest specialist is 3 hours away.

You don’t need a specialist to diagnose you with pmos. You can have your primary care physician draw your blood and they will send it for labs! My sister has it so my mom had me get tested

It might be worth trying a different birth control. I know it can be scary if you had a bad experience with one, but they can each be so so different. If you’re not open to that, you can try ibuprofen, heating pads or ice packs, light stretching, and following an anti inflammatory diet. Depending on the severity, you may also be able to get prescribed muscle relaxers.

i noticed my biggest issue was that i was bracing myself for cramps which made them way worse. i had to consciously relax my abdomen, hips, and thighs as cramps came through so they’d stop hurting so bad. also i have a vibrating heating pad that helps a LOT since the vibration settings help distract me sensory-wise too.

Is there a specific time of the cycle I should do this or just go and get it done? I had no idea you could do this.

Nope! I got tested twice bc my mom was so worried and the first time I wasn’t on my period and the second time I had just started it. So unless there’s like new things I’m unaware of you should be able to get it whenever!
