gently, and kindly. i usually just say “hey there, i appreciate the interest, but i’m just not interested. i hope this doesn’t make things weird/we can still be friends/etc” if he flips his shit over a gentle rejection, that’s not somebody you wanna be around in the first place. if he doesn’t back down or insists, that’s when you have to be firmer
