No! I see one of my high school teachers often, including at the pool (he lives in my neighborhood and we have a community pool 🥴 wouldn’t be my first choice location LOL) but he loves to check in on my college and professional journey, especially because he taught literature and I studied digital media and do lots of PR writing in my job. It’s sweet to send a thank you email to give them updates and wish them well. Lets them know they’re appreciated and are doing well in developing students

i’m a teacher!! PLS DO THIS !!! it would make my year to get an email like that from a student. pls absolutely do it <3 teaching is REALLY hard right now and getting a reminder of how much of an impact teachers have on someone’s life is fantastic motivation

Also for my college profs who wrote my recommendation letters, when I got my first job post grad I sent them thank you emails and said specifically how their class is translating to my real life work

also, remind them of who you are lol 😭 i teach 400 different kids a year and can’t exactly perfectly recall someone instantly
