This is gonna get me attacked but I genuinely view myself and others who don’t want kids as more intelligent than most (notice how I didn’t say ALL) people who say they want kids. I think the majority don’t fully think it through.

i would rather off myself (yes i’m being 110% serious) than have kids. i like me time, i like being able to do what i want and not have to tend to another human. once i FULLY thought it through and how much it would take away from me i decided motherhood will never be for me. it sounds boring and depressing as hell.

see i don’t think it’s a matter of intelligence necessarily—you can fully understand the implications and think the life you want for yourself is worth it

no i agree. i think a majority of people who have children (in america at least) don’t fully understand the sacrifice it takes to become a parent. they just want an accessory. theyre not actually willing to do the work. theyre too selfish

I just assume ppl who want kids have money. If I had money and more stability I’d have kids too

I think the issue there comes from the different people who have kids. I for one think that parents who have 1-2 kids that’s very smart but anymore than that and you enter into weird structures where the young have to take care of the old and there’s not enough adequate attention for the kids. But, I do not fully disagree or agree with you.

Yeah I said MOST don’t fully think it through, not ALL. And that is true.

That’s the thing though a lot of people who want kids do not actually have the money for it. Also, so much more goes into raising kids than money, which proves my point that most people don’t think deeply enough about it.

but i’m sayin ppl sometimes willfully even intentionally ignore things they know are important to have what they want (basically that id throw selfishness in more than lack of intelligence tbh)

Oh trust me I know it’s way more than money. I just can’t afford kids so there’s not much you can do from there. There are many other factors as to why I can’t have kids. In a perfect world tho I’d have them

i don’t want kids because i know im selfish and i know that im not willing to put a child’s wants and needs above my own 99% percent of the time. that sounds like hell. but i think that make me more responsible and more intelligent than the majority of parents nowadays. I think i know how to parent better than most people who actually have children

the people who actually know what parenting takes are the ones who are having children less often bc we understand how much of a scary, undoable, change that would be in our lives
