let’s unpack this for a second: behavior that, when exhibited by women, is classified as selfish is actually just normal when exhibited by men. do we need to be truly selfish and awful? no. do we need to stop giving of ourselves to the point of self harm/martyrdom, which is expected of women? yes absolutely

to be clear, being unselfish and being selfless are two different things, and i 100% agree with you that being selfless is not good for us and not what we should strive for
