“If you haven’t sinned” isn’t the point that we all have sinned

this is why i’m scared to “come out” as an atheist. my grandad was the minister of music for 30 years, so my dad is very christian. and my mom is the type to pray for people in front of them even if they ask her to stop. so i feel you babe. just remember you’re not doing anything wrong.

In this particular religion, after you “receive the Holy Ghost,” you cannot sin anymore or you lose the Holy Ghost and have to leave church.

That is the most unrealistic and insane thing I’ve heard in a while. If Jesus is real, he would absolutely never stand for that. It’s so clear.

Yeah a lot of people use religion as an excuse to hate. They hide behind it

It in no way sounds like you would go back but please promise me that you’re not going to get pulled back into that.

I can’t even if I wanted to 😭😭😭😭 it’s a one time thing. If you leave, they won’t let you come back. To them, I’m condemned to hell no matter what I do for the rest of my life.

I’m sorry. That’s awful. Like if you still want to follow Jesus I’m all for you finding a better church or not if you don’t. But that’s insane.

Luckily, even though they’re a part of the religion still, my parents have been so supportive and I probably wouldn’t be on this planet still without them. I definitely still appreciate the support though and it’s definitely still difficult with my other family members. I hope you can find the right space to express yourself one day 🫂

Yeah at least at this point in my life, I’m an atheist. Definitely not looking for anything like that for a while I think 😭 I’m happy with that though

What religion is that? That’s completely against what the Bible teaches, you can’t even call that Christianity

You can look up their justifications here: https://freeholinessinfo.com/free-holiness-doctrine-1 There is a photo on this page that apparently gives Bible verses to explain their position too
