What do I do as a picky eater who doesn’t like to eating anything. I will starve myself because I don’t know what to eat

on days when i feel like i absolutely cannot eat, i make chicken noodle soup. putting it in a cup so i can drink it helps too

Sometimes jumpstarting my appetite with a small snack or sweet treat helps and gives me time to figure out what to eat

I mean okay, I have weight issues and sometimes I will not want to eat cuz I’m fat. But that was a while ago, now I just don’t know what to eat, everything seems disgusting

basically i was unknowingly training my body and brain to get used to going without food to the point where being hungry felt natural and trying to eat normal amounts became sickening so i think prevention would be intervening early and not letting unhealthy behaviors become habit

yeah as i learned that thing where any food option feels disgusting so you eat nothing is a slippery slope into an ED

So today I woke up early for a meeting and didn’t have breakfast. I had my meeting at 11 and went back to sleep. Food quite literally gives me energy and I just couldn’t get myself to eat until 4pm. I’m really worried because idk what to cook and what to eat.

i think it’s important to make the distinction with yourself of “i really don’t feel like eating” vs “i CANT bring myself to eat” bc if it’s the latter that’s like you might need medical intervention and the former is time for prevention. to an extent i had to force myself a bit but also there are strategies to make it easier

drinking your calories is a common strategy for people who struggle getting themselves to eat!!

yeah, i feel like the longer food is in my mouth the harder it is to eat. so soup or something thin or crunchy is easiest. i was on appetite suppressing meds for a longgg time so i know how hard it is to eat sometimes
