i’m ngl i think birth control is demonized wayyy too much. does it have a lot of side effects? yeah. so does every other medication. and those are all POSSIBLE side effects, not GUARANTEED side effects. it’s done a lot more good than it has harm

i had a really awful experience with birth control and you'd never catch me demonizing it because it is helpful to others i'll never get people who do

It’s not one sized fits all … people are getting paid hundreds of thousands for getting brain tumors and cysts bc the pharmaceutical companies weren’t disclosing risks properly and there’s nothing quick fix about that lol

no one ever said it was one sized fits all. but birth control is not the only medication to have side effects like that. it IS the only medication that gives women the opportunity to control their reproduction though, and it’s also currently the best option for women struggling with their periods. i’m not saying it’s perfect bc no medication is but it’s not ‘bad’

there's always going to be those cases in everything that exists, personally I don't/never have known a single women that has had issues with any form of birth control. people get freaked out with what they see online when it doesn't apply to most people. that doesn't mean there won't be issues for some!! but it's better to try and protect yourself over being afraid and ending up pregnant or uneducated
