i don’t think either subject is inherently harder. there are levels of increasing difficulty and complexity in every subject. it’s like saying analyzing Dostoyevsky is harder than addition, well yeah…. we’re comparing the easiest level of one subject to the hardest levels of another

that’s how it feels when people say their college engineering class is harder than english while simultaneously touting how they haven’t read a book since high school

I get your point… but i also feel like i cannot relate or understand fully bc i still do think smth is harder regardless of categories or not. But definitely, everyone’s “harder” is different

without fully studying the highest level of something, how can you know which one is harder between the two? how can you also not account for personal bias and how what you prefer may impact this belief you have? have you accounted for the way your brain works versus someone else’s? perhaps reading comprehension is the easiest thing in the world to you but is it for us all? it’s a seriously pointless thing to hang your hat on.

unless you are tackling the ~hardest~ questions in literature and history and the ~hardest~ questions in math and science you wouldn’t know. and something tells me all of the hardest questions are pretty damn hard & the reason they still exist is because a bunch of very smart people STILL can’t figure it out. so how can we (relatively) uneducated, dumb, people say WE know what is the most difficult, when the most difficult things in ALL subjects are ALL too hard even for humans at this point.
