It’s not mean in this instance, I just find it to be so unnecessary 😭 but yeah it’s usually done to dunk on someone you disagree with too so I think that’s why it rubs me the wrong way

Literally I could be talking about how the US empire exploits “counties” in the global south and someone will go “umm I think you mean countries 🤭” and nothing else. Like thank you for pointing out an autocorrect failure I didn’t initially notice?
